Found Frequency is a short documentary I developed and produced as my UCLA senior thesis, following Paul Avila and his blind, nonverbal autistic son, Pauly, and the role music plays in how they connect.
Over the course of one year, the project grew from a student film into a nationally distributed release.
Project highlights:
Secured a national distribution deal with PBS, with a streaming release on PBS.org and the PBS App, with a two-year regional broadcast window on PBS SoCal
Winner of Best Documentary Short at Chelsea Film Festival
Semi-Finalist at Rhode Island International Film Festival
Launched alongside a social media campaign in partnership with nonprofits, public media accounts, and public figures such as Danny Trejo, reaching 4M+ combined followers
Generated 150K+ social media views in the first two weeks of the campaign
